2008 Members' Limited Show

American Cocker best in show at Weeley
At our Members' Limited Show held on Saturday 8th November, Mr Jim Martin awarded BIS to Crisps' 20-month-old American Cocker Spaniel bitch Misticolas Touch of Tan from Genavieve. Reserve went to the Boston Terrier Norcairn Wot'N'Edition and Best Puppy was a Whippet, Beetelian Indian Summer at Kandibah.

The show was held at the Weeley Village Hall and was well attended, with over 90 dogs entered for the 30 classes. Generous prize money of £30 for BIS and £20 each for Reserve and best Puppy was provided by our sponsor The Animal Health Co..

2008 Open Show
In spite of the threat of bad weather, our 2008 Open Show was successfully held at the Mid-Suffolk Showground at Stonham Barns on Saturday 12th July 2008.  More detailed results to follow, but Best in Show was awarded by judge Mr David Roe to Mrs Tina Holman's Pomeranian Ch Altinas Selene JW ShCM (pictured on right).  Framed certificates as shown in the photo were presented to Group winners and to BIS, BPIS and Best Veteran.

Everyone worked very hard to organise the show and we were delighted to be supported by a gratifying response of over 800 entries from nearly 600 dogs.  Thanks are due to the exhibitors and all concerned, but especially to the guidance and organisational skills of our Acting Secretary Mr John Carter, whose seemingly tireless efforts with an untried Committee have brought the Society back from the brink of extinction.

The show came at the end of a week of bad weather, but fortunately this had not affected the ground, and on the day we had nothing worse than a few spells of gusty wind and one heavy but fairly short shower, so all classes were able to be held in the good sized outdoor rings.  Exhibitors seemed generally pleased with the facilities of the showground and we will be using this venue again next year
